With a culturally rich background such as Ricki Lake’s it is inevitable that she would have eventually found her way to high places no matter where she went. This American actress, television host, and producer found her way to Hollywood through her Broadway portrayal of Tracy Turnblad in the original Hairspray.
For the premiere of her documentary, The Business of Being Born, Ricki wore a somewhat flattering dressing with a very unusual hemline. Although the empire cut accentuated her ample chest and décolletage, the hemline was a more lacking affair. And since black and white are a classic and timeless color combination, Ricki wore black stiletto heels and brought with her a black clutch bag.
She had all the fine features thanks to her Jewish roots, and these were most definitely brought to the center of attention with smokey eyes and very light lip shimmer. For her dark brown hair, she chose to let is fall freely down to her shoulders.
The Business of Being Born follows her experience about home birth and midwifery. This, she hoped, would educate the public (especially the pregnant women) about the choices they had for childbirth. With her level of talent and experience, we’re pretty sure that raising public awareness about her cause is a passionate affair.
